Do you still have questions about Storyland? Below are answers to some of the questions we have been frequently asked over the years.

What is the weather like?
Summer days in the Ottawa Valley are generally warm and sunny. On those days when there are some light showers, the natural canopy of trees provides adequate shelter to keep the fun rolling. There are sheltered areas within the park for our guests including a tent located by the Storyland Cafe and the Big Blue Theatre. During rare, extreme weather events some attractions may need to close temporarily for safety reasons, however they will reopen as soon as possible. For today's weather forecast click here.

Do you offer rain cheques?
In the event rainy weather persists throughout the day and interferes with the normal operation of our attractions rain cheques may be made available for guests to return on another date. Please note that rain cheques are valid for the remainder of the season and are non-transferable - they may only be used by the family that received them.

Where are you located?
Storyland is located in the historical and beautiful Ottawa Valley, 35 km northwest of the rural border of Canada's Capital City, Ottawa, and 8 km north of the town of Renfrew, Ontario. We can be found on Storyland Road just off the Trans-Canada Highway, Highway 17. For directions click here.

What are your rates for admission?
Storyland offers daily tickets, season passes and special group rates.

How do we get a group rate?
Group rates are available for schools, summer camps, day cares, corporate functions, clubs, and other organizations with 20 or more guests. Click here for more information.

Do you host birthday parties?
Yes, Storyland will host your child's birthday party. We will reserve a picnic area for your group and organize a time when our characters can come to sing Happy Birthday. There is no extra charge for this service, but space is limited so an advanced reservation is recommended.

When are you open?
Our 2010 operating calendar has not yet been finalized, but we expect to open for weekend operation on Saturday, June 12th, and for daily operation on Saturday, June 26th. The draft calendar is currently posted, including hours of operation. The final calendar will be posted in the spring.

We are coming from a distance, how can we make the most of our day?
Storyland has a wide array of activities intended to give you and your children a full day of fun. Your pass or ticket to the park includes access to all of the park's facilities including our shows and live entertainment, rides, Fairytale Trail, Splish-Splash water-spray park, 18 hole mini-golf, paddle boats, playgrounds, Jump & Bounce, and barnyard petting zoo. We encourage an enjoyable and relaxed family atmosphere.

There are also many other attractions close to Storyland that can compliment your trip should you wish to stay for more than a day. What forms of payment do you accept?
Storyland accepts cash, Interac, Visa and Mastercard at Admissions, the Big Mushroom Gift Shop, and the Storyland Cafe. Currently the Middle-of-the-Hill Grill is only able to accept cash. American currency and travellers cheques may be exchanged at Admissions or at Guest Services located beside the Storyland Cafe. Personal cheques will only be accepted for the advanced purchase of season passes or group tickets. Personal cheques will not be accepted at the park.

How much is parking?
Parking at Storyland is always free.

Can we bring our dog?
Yes! Friendly, trained dogs are welcome visitors to Storyland. We ask only two things: that they be on a fixed length leash at all times, and secondly if they poop... please scoop. These two simple rules go a long way to help keep our park safe for children and clean. Please also note that there are no kennel facilities at the park so you must keep your pet with you at all times.

What age groups does Storyland appeal to?
All ages are welcome to enjoy the park. Although the park primarily caters to children between the ages of 2 and 10, older children are sure to enjoy a ride on the paddle boats, a game of mini-golf, the Champlain Lookout, and some of our larger rides.

How long will it take to see everything?
As with any attraction, this can vary depending on crowds and weather, but generally it is a good idea to plan to spend 4 to 5 hours to fully explore Storyland.

What should I wear?
We encourage our guests to wear loose fitting cotton clothing and comfortable walking shoes. Sunscreen and caps are a good idea for children. Although our park is extremely well shaded, summer sun has a way of finding unprotected skin.

Are you wheelchair accessible?
We do have reserved accessible parking and a large family washroom that allows for better accessibility, however the woodland trails and general terrain of the park can prove challenging.

Are strollers or wagons available?
You bet! We have specially designed sport strollers suitable for walking trails. Strollers can be rented for a modest fee on a first-come, first-served basis.

Are there restaurants?
Yes. A large variety of food is offered throughout the park. Our main restaurant, the Storyland Café offers a wide range of food options and tasty treats, and the Middle-of-the-Hill Grill has fresh BBQ hamburgers and grilled chicken sandwiches. What is your policy on smoking?
For the comfort of all our guests and due to the heavy forest cover over much of the park, most of Storyland is a non-smoking environment. For your convenience there is are designated smoking areas located near the front of the park and beside the Splish Splash water-spray park. Please refer to your park map or any staff member for more information.

Can we leave the park and later re-enter?
Absolutely! The ticket and hand stamp you are issued upon entering Storyland allows you to leave and re-enter anytime within the same day. Just make sure your hand stamp hasn't washed off before you leave!

What should we do if we become separated from our children?
Despite your best efforts, sometimes the little ones do manage to slip away! Our staff are trained to keep an eye open for children that are not with adults. When we do find them they are taken to Guest Services located beside the Storyland Cafe until we can locate the parents.

Ouch! I have a boo boo. Where can I find first aid?
First Aid kits are located at Guest Services located beside the Storyland Cafe. Please ask a staff member for assistance.

I'd like to spend the weekend. Where can I find local accommodations?
